Knee Bracing

Knee braces provide support and stability to the knee joint, helping to manage pain, assist recovery.
Knee braces improve mobility for a variety of injuries, chronic issues, or post-surgical rehabilitation. They are constructed from materials such as carbon fibre, plastic, metal, and fabric, ensuring a secure fit around the knee.
Functional Braces

Support injured knees during recovery or sporting activities.

Custom Insoles (Functional Foot Orthoses)

Insoles are available in a range of shapes and designs.
They address abnormal foot function by altering loading patterns and timing, resulting in a more efficient and natural gait while reducing strain on injured tissues.

Insoles also help to improve stability and boost confidence by giving better sensory feedback about foot position.
This may reduce the risk of falls or other injuries, and can enable increased activity and participation in both familiar and new pursuits.

Knee-Ankle-Foot Orthoses (KAFO)

We are known as “Kafo Guy” for our specialist expertise in KAFOs, which have been developed and supported worldwide by our Director.

KAFOs are devices that support and stabilise the knee, ankle, and foot, significantly improving mobility and function in people with pronounced weakness or instability.
Constructed from composites, plastic, metal, or leather, KAFOs feature various knee joint options: non-locking, locking, and stance control.

Our experience includes advanced stance- and swing-phase controlled orthoses, as well as cost-effective rehabilitation KAFOs that support neuroplastic rehabilitation.
KAFOs are used for:

Ankle-Foot Orthoses

Ankle Foot Orthoses (AFOs) are designed to support the ankle and foot, improving both mobility and stability.
They are frequently prescribed to manage movement, correct gait patterns, and prevent deformities.

Modern innovations such as advanced materials and 3D printing have made AFOs more functional and visually appealing.
Types of AFOs include:
Rigid (Solid)

Maximum support, restricts movement; ideal for severe weakness or instability.

Hinged (Articulated)
Dynamic (Flexible)
Posterior Leaf Spring (PLS)

Custom or Semi-Custom Footwear (and Insoles)

Custom footwear prescription in orthotic practice involves designing and manufacturing shoes tailored to address specific foot issues, maximise comfort, and improve mobility.
The process begins with a thorough assessment of your feet, including their structure, function, and any underlying pathology. Based on this, we prescribe footwear with the necessary adaptations to suit your unique requirements.

The success of these benefits depends on the accuracy of the initial assessment and the expertise of the prescriber and fabrication team.
Benefits of Comprehensive Assessment and Tailored Prescription:
Enhanced Comfort and Function

Custom shoes are crafted to fit the precise contours of the feet, offering superior comfort and function compared to off-the-shelf alternatives. This is particularly beneficial for those with diabetes, arthritis, or foot deformities.
